During a traffic incident, a 21-year-old LSU marketing student was shot and killed inside her car.

Allison Rice, age 21, was found dead inside her car between 1-110 and Park Boulevard.

According to the local news station WBRZ, the Baton Rouge Police Department. On Friday, just after 2 a.m., her car was found with bullet wounds.

According to WAFB, authorities believe she was shot many times while she waited at a railroad crossing for a train to pass after leaving a gathering with friends.

No explanation for the attack has been revealed to the public, but police enforcement is still investigating the incident.

A witness told WBRZ that he heard a train before the shots were fired. It's unclear whether the incident was directed at her or occurred at random.

"TA fatal shooting] is not uncommon. Someone stole an ice chest. So much happens on out here," Floyd Norman told the newspaper.
